Marvene Ash - Painter

Marvene Ash

Picture

Marvene is a painter whose works relies on a direct engagement with the subject. The meaning of the work lies in our sensate relationship with the world around us. Her subjects include profuse patterns of plants; a personal response to landscape; and interior spaces and furnishings that have the potential to suggest a bodily presence without resorting to the figure.  Marvene has an impressive history of working as a teacher and workshop facilitator as well as running her own gallery. Marvene hopes that her art provides an immediate and slightly unexpected experience with an affirming and lasting interest for the viewer.
