During the month of August contemporary Brisbane-based photo media artists Mah&Wah will be in residence at the Arts & Ecology Centre, working in partnership with Sunshine Coast artists/facilitators Dr Sue Davis and Chony Bowden, and other artists and people with disability.

The project will include developmental workshop and residency experiences and culminate in an exhibition and projection event at the Art & Ecology Centre, Maroochy Bushland Botanical Gardens during ‘Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival 2022’.

The concept of pollination and cross pollination anchors the project with multiple layers of meaning. This includes the cross pollinating of skills and approaches being shared across the participant group, and the wonder of the pollination process, the interactions across plants and species and the ecological relationships that enable new life to be generated. The work will have a particular focus on native wildflowers, coinciding with the best flowering times for many of our local species.

A range of workshops and public programs on offer focus on nature-based photography, digital and mixed-media work. For details about programs, opportunities to get involved and exhibition see below.
